Taiwan is not China is Spain

First of all those who judging by the title of this post, think that I am turning this blog into a political one, calm down. Nothing further from my intention.

So coming back to my point. There are very few, that know that Taiwan was once Spanish, even before Chinese and Japanese domination years. And you may think that with such a short domination ( from 1632 till 1642) will not be any influence of those times. Mistaken again. There are few places in the world so similar to Spain like Taiwan.

First, Taiwan ( by the way the Spaniard named the island as "Todos los Santos", All Saints Island) love food, social life revolves around food, eating in night markets little dishes as Spanish tapas, going from one place to the other. And it is tradition that people of all ages follows.

Food is as diverse as it is in Spain, fish, meat, lots of vegetables, you just have to go to a market and you will find very similar things from the most common ones to the odds ones ( such as tripe, callos in Spain, cost pig etc etc)

Second, Taiwanese people love to socialize, everything is an excuse to start a conversation and being friendly. Going out is a must like in Spain.

Third but equally amazing fact is that public transport is so similar. You can go to Taipei Metro and it is  it was design by the same people that did Madrid one.

So next time you want to go to a new place in Spain, why not chose Taiwan Province.

Vintage American

Vintage seems to be the trend of the beginning of this new century. Just taking a look to the TV and you will find shows such as Mad Men or Panam trying to catch the eye of the viewer by appealing to the nostalgia of better times ( very appraise in this time of crisis).

Vintage shops are also flourishing everywhere. I must admit that it is brilliant ideas. Just clean up your mothers wardrobe and sell it for triple the current value claiming it that the yesterday tacky 80s maxi shoulders dress is now the latest trend in fashion.

So if you are one of those, crazy for vintage, I got some good news for you, Fly American Airlines. It is the ultimate Vintage experience in every way.

Aircrafts keep the same look as they have 20 years ago. Same upholstery, same iron armrest. Same dirty stains. No crew member is younger than 50 so you can chat with them and re-live all those wonderful years. No need to close your eyes, their vintage uniforms will take you to the late 70s immediately.

They have replicate the atmosphere so well that even the food on board taste like it is been seating around for 20 years at least. For those tech-freaks, missing the Spectrum years and the first green computers, just approach any of their reservations desk, where you can admire how they still run a primitive software just fresh out Steve Job´s old garage.

Fly vintage Fly American Airlines.
